welcome to the UU of SCV

Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist congregation in Santa Clarita Valley — a vibrant, inclusive, spiritual fellowship.

As  Unitarian Universalists (UU’s), we share important values and principles, but in matters of faith, we encourage members to think for themselves. We are  “religious liberals,” drawing upon the teachings of many of the world’s religions, as well as philosophy and science. Together we share our joys and sorrows, our quest for spiritual insight, our commitment to greater justice and our efforts to grow in wisdom, generosity and compassion.

This  congregation was established in the year 2000 to provide a tolerant, free-thinking place of worship in Santa Clarita Valley, with a focus on personal growth and community transformation.

UU’s are relatively “new” in  town, and our vision is forward-looking. Yet we’re part of a much larger movement with deep historical roots dating back to early Christianity.

While you’ll get a sense of who we are by viewing some of  these pages, the best way to fully experience UU is on a Sunday morning at our visitor-friendly worship service, complete with inspirational sermon, readings  and hymns. On other days, we enjoy a wide variety of learning activities,  fellowship, compassionate service and fun. You’re welcome to participate in those activities, too!

Come join us. We think you’ll find this a refreshingly different kind of religion. We can’t wait to meet you!

Reverend Stefanie Etzbach-Dale

Is it possible that we have already met?  Perhaps at one of our General Assembly meetings or at District Assembly; at one of our San Fernando Valley Vespers services; when I came to fill your pulpit one Spring Sunday in 2009; or even a few weeks ago, when I joined you for worship?

president's message

Lesley Yadon-McNutt

September is here and summer vacations are coming to an end.  Traditionally, September has been an “ingathering” month for Unitarian Universalists.  It’s a time to reconnect after being on vacation and in “summer mode.”

for new visitors

Many folks ask us on their first visit to our congregation: "Where have you been all my life?" They’re filled with wonder at a church that will help them discover and develop what they believe, rather than compelling them to accept fixed doctrine.

Please join us for Sunday Services. We know you’ll feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you set foot in our door. We have a casual style... some of us even wear blue jeans or shorts to church.
