The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) applauds the United States Supreme Court’s decision to bar a question about citizenship status from the decennial census.

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) applauds the United States Supreme Court’s decision to bar a question about citizenship status from the decennial census. Unitarian Universalists believe that all people have inherent worth and dignity. We oppose any efforts to track, harass or otherwise create fear in communities of color. This case clearly revealed the racism at the heart of the Administration’s political agenda and the lengths they will go to retain power.

As people of faith and conscience, Unitarian Universalists know that fear and hate are no way to govern in a democracy. We are relieved that the nation’s highest court appears to uphold this principle as well.
