How is Social & Environmental Justice a Spiritual Practice

Members of our Social & Environmental Justice team will be sharing how the 7 Principles of Unitarian Universalism call them to become involved in social and environmental issues.
Lynne Plambeck will talk about the 7th Principle “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part” and how that motivates here to become involved in environmental issues.
Barbara Cogswell will talk about how she has become involved with “Family Promise” and “Bridge to Home” and how that relates to Unitarian Universalist values.
Ingrid Van Dorn will talk about the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) Fair Trade Project and why she become involved by selling the coffee, tea & chocolates on Sunday mornings after the worship services. She will explain how this promotes economic & environmental justice and how it relates to living our principles.
5th Sunday Forum (Immediately after the service)
Laila Hawa and others from the SCV chapter of “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America” will join us to talk about this nonprofit group dedicated to promoting safety and reducing the number of deaths and injuries from gun violence.
